Typically, you do not use the expanding foam in a single piece. Typically used when walking or driving. Im not sure what the specific use you have in mind, but once installed, they usually have a piece of wood or something like a clamp, until the concrete was poured, and a time and then replace the wood with foam before any way down. The other alternative is that you can buy an epoxy that you can use to replace the spacer as well.
